Laser Designs was established in 2002 in Phoenix, AZ. The idea to start
laser engraving came from seeing my first laser engraving machine in
2001. I, Matt, was working in Research and Development in Scottsdale,
AZ. I had to visit a vendor regarding some prototypes that needed to
be machined. Once there a friend wanted to show me a laser that they
were fabricating parts for. A laser? To my surprise he showed
me a small machine that he was getting to play with. This made me very
curious. So I did some research and found that a laser engraver manufacturer
was actually based in the same area I was working. I made arrangements
to visit the facility. During the tour, they showed me their applications
lab. Basically where they trying cutting and engraving all sorts of
materials. Once I saw the machine run, I had to have one!
It took me about a year to decide what to do. In the end I decided that
I would never know if I could succeed unless I tried.
